The following article provides the steps to run a traceroute to diagnose any latency issues between two locations.
- From your local workstation, open a command prompt.
- In the command prompt, type the following (substituting in your domain for <yourdomainname.tld>: On Windows: tracert <yourdomainname.tld>
On Mac: traceroute <yourdomainname.tld>
- Once the trace finishes, copy the output and send to us in a ticket via the Customer Portal. Typically any hops over 20ms can be problematic. If a hop doesn't respond, it's not necessarily an issue as some hops are set to not respond for security reasons.
